DAVE Project 14 - 25 years

DAVE Project 14 – 25 years

The DAVE (Deaf Active Volunteer Experience) Project is aimed at 14 -25 year olds and has been designed to meet the needs of young deaf people who are approaching a transitional age in their lives. This project provides them with the knowledge and skills needed to function in a predominantly hearing society; raising their aspirations and expectations.

The DAVE Project has undoubtedly assisted in the growth, independence and development of new skills for all those involved. The success of our young people is testimony to individual growth, confidence and self-belief that has surged within them.

Involvement in the Manchester Deaf Centre’s Youth Service has equipped our young deaf people with the skills they need to secure future employment, internships and volunteer roles, whilst also providing them with a weekly opportunity to engage and socialise with their deaf peers.
