| Linkworker Service
What do we do
The link worker service has been running since December 2002. The service is funded by Manchester City Council and is aimed to break down barriers so Deaf people can get access to council services. What we offer
The link workers give advice on:
- General Advice
- Benefits
- Tax Credits
- Form Filling
Link workers can also help refer people to access other services, such as:
- Housing
- Sensory Equipment
- Aids and Adaptations
- Care Management
As well as access to council services the link workers can support with:
- Employment Support
- Access to Work
- Homelessness
- Domestic Violence
- Welfare Benefits
The service has up to date information on changes to benefits such as the new pensions credit
If a Deaf person is unable to make a request for a Sign Language Interpreter or Lipspeaker, a link worker can support this process.
The Linkworker Service is available at the following times: This service is for people living in Manchester only (paying Council Tax to Manchester City Council)
