All our Sign Language courses are accredited by Signature. We only use qualified tutors to teach our courses.
Deaf Awareness
This course runs for six weeks at two hours each week ending with an examination. In this course you will learn how to approach deaf people, how to communicate with deaf people of varying deafness and about the equipment they need to be fully independent. The course is run by Signature (Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People). It will be based at Manchester Deaf Centre. The cost will be £60 per person. Alternatively we can deliver this course in your place of work specifically to your work needs. For more information please contact reception.
Signature Level 1 Award in British Sign Language
BSL Level 1 runs throughout the year. The course is for 30 weeks at 2.5 hrs each week. The course fee is £240. This fee includes registration, assessments, course materials and refreshments. On completion of the course, after regular attendance you will be able to communicate with deaf people at a basic level. There are three modules on which you will be assessed for Signature's Level 1 Certificate in British Sign Language
BSL Level 2
BSL Level 2 Sign Language Classes run throughout the year. We run intensive weekend courses over 10 weekends [Saturday 10-5pm Sunday 12.00-5.00pm] once a month. There will also be an option to study this on a weekly basis for 40 weeks. The fee for the course is £380. This includes registration, all assessments, course materials and refreshments. On completion of the course, after regular attendance, you will be able to communicate with deaf people at an intermediate level. There are three modules on which you will be assessed for Signature's Level 2 Certificate in British Sign language
BSL Level 3
Manchester Deaf Centre is now offering BSL Level 3 This will run every Friday afternoon from 1-3pm.The cost for this course will be £1,000 this includes registration with Signature, all assessment fees and tutor time. The course will run for 60 weeks. On successful completion of this course you can apply to go onto the level 4
