Volunteering

Those who can do. Those who can do more volunteer!

Admin Support Worker

This requires you to carry out comprehensive administrative support with good IT skills. Duties such as maintain and updating records, processing volunteering application forms, responding to enquires over the telephone/email/face to face (which ever suits you best.) And additional admin duties. This roll is Monday – Friday, between 10:00 - 15:00

Event Helpers

Throughout the year we run many events here, big and small. We require volunteers to help out with the smooth running of the event, whether that is collecting money on the door, selling raffle tickets or working on the bar. As this roll comes into contact with D/deaf and / or hard of hearing people, it is considered an excellent way to learn BSL. This roll mostly takes place in the evenings and weekends

Social Bar

Based within our centre, this is a good opportunity for both deaf and hard of hearing to interact socially. Volunteers are needed to serve drinks and take orders from our deaf customers and BSL students. For this role you'll need to be confident in your BSL skills and demonstrate good customer relations.

Youth Group

This group is aimed at children and young people who are deaf. However, it is also inclusive to those who are not. We always have members of staff running the sessions, however we need volunteers to help with the activities and supervise the children. The young people who attend are between the ages of 6 and 25 years of age. Youth group conducts on a Thursday 5pm-9pm and Friday 6.30pm-8.30pm It also runs in school holidays 10am-3pm.
