Well-being Group

Our Well-being Group focuses on promoting positive mental well-being and being a place where D/deaf people can come to talk about their lives. The group was established to help service users improve self-confidence and try new activities that can support positive well-being and health.

We have two staff members who facilitate our Well-being Group:

Anita Kanji – Project Coordinator   email: anitak@manchesterdeafcentre.com

Anita works with service users understand their needs and plan suitable activities that support positive mental health. She visits external organisations to raise awareness about our Well-being Group and to provide them with Deaf Awareness Training. Anita works with other Deaf organisations to create strong links to extend the Well-being Group reach.

Sarah Gillatt – Activity Leader

email: sarahg@manchestereafcentre.com

Sarah works with the Well-being Group; planning activities and collecting feedback. She organises outside trips, such as the groups’ recent trip to Manchester Museum and the Lowry.
