- Workshops aimed at raising awareness of domestic abuse within the D/deaf community. Topics will include understanding domestic abuse, safeguarding, hate crime, wellbeing and effective self-care, and how to seek help.
- Working with Domestic Abuse services, Homelessness and Safe Accommodation providers in Greater Manchester to make mainstream services D/deaf accessible.
If you are a Greater Manchester-based service, we can offer you a FREE deaf awareness training session. We have a 2-hour session which aims to raise awareness of the barriers faced by D/deaf people and how your service can become more welcoming and accessible to D/deaf people. The session has been created specifically for the DASA project and will be delivered by Michelle.
We also provide introductory knowledge and skills to help you communicate with D/deaf people and information about the cultural and social needs of D/deaf people and their families.
This session can be provided at Manchester Deaf Centre, or we can come to your organisation.
If you would like to book a session, please contact us using the details below.
