Actual Salary for 3 days

£16,672.50. (Full time equivalent £27,787.50)

Part time basis

22.5 hours per week (ideally Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, though half days across 4/5 days will also be considered)

About the role

The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the smooth running of MDC’s financial operations. This is an administrative role, not managerial, with a focus on ensuring accurate financial processes and record keeping. The post holder will work closely with the Finance Consultant and provide support to the wider team where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for staff
• Check daily incomings and outgoings
• Ensure MDC’s finances remain in good order
• Update financial systems and keep accurate, up-to-date records
• Process invoices and payments via online banking
• Coordinate sales orders, raise invoices and process income
• Ensure QuickBooks is up to date with accurate information
• Monthly bank reconciliation
• Liaise with Finance Consultant with monthly financial reports
• Process petty cash from various projects
• Pursue aged creditors and debtors
• Manage the company pension scheme
• Maintain accurate financial databases
• Working closely with the Business Team on income generation activities
• Support bookings and business administration when needed
• Opportunities to contribute to wider business activities (courses, training, bookings, room hire)

Person Specification

• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Numeracy skills and confidence working with financial data
• Experience of book keeping, payroll, and financial processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (QuickBooks experience desirable)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Deaf awareness and ideally BSL Level 1 (or willingness to learn – MDC offers a free BSL course place)
