Changes to the Advocacy Service (WAITE TEAM)

The WAITE advocacy team has recently had some staff changes and some changes to days and times.

One of our Advocacy Support Officers, Claire Holland, has moved into a Senior Management role at MDC. Therefore, we are now pleased to welcome Anita Kanji and Toni Hanlon into the team as new WAITE advocates.

Anita and Toni are both already known to many at MDC: Anita has worked as our Wellbeing Service leader for many years, and she is also one of MDC’s BSL tutors; Toni was part of our Salford Service staff team until recently, and before that she worked as a MDC youth leader.

Tawona Fleming remains part of the WAITE advocacy team with no change to her hours.

Our WAITE advocates are now available on the following days:

  • Mondays: Anita and Tawona
  • Tuesdays: Tawona
  • Thursdays: Toni

Appointments are now available from 10am to 2pm on these days.

Advocacy support is also available separately to members of our 50+ Manchester Deaf Social Club every Monday between 10am and 1pm.

Our Trafford Advocacy Service also continues as normal. It is available on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 3.30pm.
