MDC welcomes a new Senior Manager

We are very excited to announce that Claire Baldwin will be joining the Manchester Deaf Centre staff team in the role of Senior Manager from mid December. Claire is known to many already as she previously served on MDC’s trustee board for three years and was a huge asset to our organisation in this time.

Claire was born severely-profoundly deaf. She attended mainstream schools and university and started learning BSL in her 20s when she wanted to meet other deaf people. Claire is a qualified teacher in Further Education. She has previously worked for several deaf charities including NDCS, RNID and Deafblind UK delivering employment and befriending services, and at The LGBT Foundation managing their volunteer programme. She has more recently been working as the CEO of Deaf Experience, a West Yorkshire based charity working with deaf young people aged 11–30.
