MDC wins ‘Spirit of Manchester’ award for involving service users

We won!

We are delighted to have won a ‘Spirit of Manchester’ 2022 award. The awards are organised by MACC – Manchester’s local voluntary and community sector support organisation.

Awards are available for several different categories, and our wellbeing team were nominated in the category for ‘involving service users’. The award recognises MDC’s active involvement of service users in the decision making and planning regarding our services.

A team of our staff attended the awards evening, which was on 6 October at Whitworth Hall. At the event, a one-minute film was shown for each organisation shortlisted. The audience then voted to decide the winner in each category.

Our staff really enjoyed the evening, and we now have a lovely new trophy on display at MDC. You can watch us receiving it in the video lower down.

Well done to Anita Kanji and Steve Simons who lead our wellbeing team, and a big thank you to all our service users too!
