New social and support group in Riley’s Bar, Wednesday evenings, for people new to the deaf community

Are you:

  • Hard of hearing or recently deafened?
  • Struggling with conversation in noisy spaces?
  • Do you have children or a family member who is D/deaf and you would like to meet other people with experiences of deafness?
  • Are you anxious about your deaf identity?
  • Do you want to practice low-level BSL with other deaf people?

Come and join our new, friendly social group, with free tea, coffee and biscuits.

The group is aimed primarily at people who currently have little or no BSL. As well as a social space we can offer support with signposting you to any services that can assist you. A deaf centre staff member will be present along with one or two of our wonderful volunteers, and communication support will also be provided.
