We are excited to announce that Manchester Deaf Centre has been successful in achieving a Trusted Charity Mark accreditation.
It’s a quality standard and means that as an organisation, we have demonstrated that we have processes in place to run effectively and efficiently as a charity, and to protect and treat fairly people who work for us and who use our centre.
It was a long process. We examined in detail 11 key areas of our operations, which were:
The aim was to learn about ways to improve and then to make any changes needed to prepare for the assessment. We received support to do this from a tutor who understands the Trusted Charity Mark requirements.
An external Trusted Charity Mark assessor conducted the assessment.
She examined our organisation in the 11 key areas to check that our policies and procedures are of a good quality. She also interviewed our Managers, our Trustees, and several of our staff, to gain an impression of our organisation and to check that staff understand key things that are important when working for a charity.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved and worked hard to contribute to this success.
Having the Trusted Charity Mark accreditation will provide re-assurance to funders and other organisations who we may partner with in future, as well as to people who use our services and to our staff.
Thank you also to Manchester City Council for providing funding which enabled us to receive support from a tutor to prepare for the assessment.
