British Sign Language - Pre Level 3

Our pre level 3 course has been designed specifically by our BSL Lead to ready learners for their journey onto the Signature accredited BSL level 3 course. The pre level 3 course will focus on language production, receptive skills and linguistics and will ensure learners feel confident and competent before progressing onto the next stage of their BSL journey.

Entry requirements:
- applicants must be 16 or over
- applicants must have a BSL Level 2 qualification and be able to show evidence of this
- applicants must have sufficient sight, manual dexterity, facial and body movement to produce and receive BSL (as outlined by Signature)

***Please note: MDC request that you complete this course before applying for the BSL Level 3 course if possible, alternatively you may be required to undergo a 1:1 assessment if you wish to enrol onto the Signature accredited Level 3 course.

COVID-19 Reminder

Should Government guidelines state that this course is unable to be taught in the classroom at MDC, this course will be taught online via the platform Zoom. Please familiarise yourself with this platform. We would highly recommend using either a laptop or PC computer when studying BSL online, unfortunately a mobile or tablet device will not be suitable due to the screen size and inability to view PowerPoint presentations at the same time as viewing the teacher on screen.

***You should not enrol on this course if you are not willing to transition to online learning should Government guidelines dictate we do so. Unfortunately no refunds will be given should courses need to transition to online learning.
