I am the Services Manager at Manchester Deaf Centre, where I am passionate about creating inclusive, equitable and accessible services for deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people.
I hold a Degree in Deaf Studies and Education and bring experience from a range of sectors, including communications, campaigns and policy. Before joining Manchester Deaf Centre, I spent four years working at a national deaf health charity, advocating for deaf people and helping to influence positive change at both local and national levels.
As someone who is profoundly Deaf, my connection to the deaf community is both personal and professional. I come from a deaf family, with a deaf mother, brother and grandfather, and my lived experience shapes everything I do. It gives me a deep understanding of the barriers that deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people can face, as well as the importance of services that are genuinely accessible, empowering and community-led.
In my role, I work to ensure that the voices of deaf people remain at the heart of our services and decision-making. I am committed to building strong partnerships, developing opportunities for our community, and helping Manchester Deaf Centre continue to be a welcoming place where people can connect, access support and thrive.
I am proud to be part of an organisation that champions equality, celebrates Deaf culture and works every day to create a more inclusive society.
