WAITE Advocacy & Support Officer

I have worked for Manchester Deaf Centre since 2016. From 2016 – 2020 I have been involved with the Children and Young Peoples Services Team. My role as a youth worker meant I was able to be part of the Youth group, Deaf Meets and Dave projects. It has been amazing and rewarding to see deaf children and young people grow and develop their confidence over the years through their attendance at Manchester Deaf Centre. 

In November 2020 I was offered the role of Salford Advocacy and Support Officer. I enjoy meeting new clients and providing advocacy support to members of support the deaf community in the Salford area. Having grown up in the deaf community myself, I am very keen to promote deaf awareness and achieve equal access to all services for deaf, hard of hearing and deaf blind people. I am excited to grow and develop our presence in Salford to provide vital and needed services for the Deaf community.
